With Mellan Magkollen you get the opportunity to test for some of the most common diseases and conditions related to stomach problems. Stomach problems are often linked to stress and a significantly reduced mental well-being. 6 out of 10 people experience stomach problems and this of course affects their quality of life.
With the combination package Mellan Magkollen you get five different tests for a proper stomach check. The tests included are for Stomach Ulcer, Gluten Intolerance, Blood in Stool, Calprotectin and Rota-/Adenovirus. The gluten and stomach ulcer tests are blood tests that are performed with a quick prick of the finger, then the blood is dripped into a special test cassette, after a few minutes the result appears. The Blood in Stool, Rota/Adeno and Calprotectin tests are performed with a stool sample. This is mixed with a liquid that is then dripped into a test cassette, here too you get the answer in a few minutes! (For Blood in Stool, samples are first collected for three days)
Stomach ulcer test
Detects the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, which is carried by about 90% of people with stomach ulcers.Gluten test
Indicates Anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA antibodies which are directly associated with gluten intolerance/celiac disease.Blood in stool test
Blood in the stool is relatively common and can be caused by many different things. The most common are hemorrhoids and these are completely harmless. Another common cause is cracks in the anal opening. However, it should always be investigated.Calprotectin test
Detects elevated levels of calprotectin which may indicate an inflammatory bowel disease IBD such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Testing fecal calprotectin, and thus ruling out intestinal inflammation IBD, can identify more people with IBS.Rotavirus/Adenovirus test
Detects Rotavirus, which is one of the most common causes of stomach illness. The virus causes, among other things, the classic stomach flu, which is common in children between 1 and 6 years of age. This test can also detect Adenovirus, which is a common cause of infection. For more information about the components, see the respective product page.
